District Nurses

The district nursing team provide nursing care at home. The district nurse will make a full assessment of your nursing and person needs at home and will involve your and your family in a plan of care. To help you stay at home our district nurses are able to put you in touch with other agencies such as home helps. District nurses can be contacted via the surgery.


Midwives monitor the health of mother and baby at regular intervals during and after pregnancy. Amy McClure is our current midwife and usually operates a clinic on Friday morning.

Health Visitor

The Health Visitor is experienced in child care, health promotion and health education. Her main area of work is to offer support, help and advice to families with children under 5 years. She can be contacted via the surgery or by telephoning; 0114 263 0317. She normally operates  a drop-in only clinic on alternate Wednesday afternoons. Please contact the Surgery for details of the Wednesdays she will be working.
